January 2006 Jan 30 - I stuck a new photo on my home page. Traffic to my site has been up lately for whatever reason. Picked up a 100'roll of Agfa 400asa film on ebay for $24.00. Just need to get some cassettes to roll it onto. Also picked up an EL NIkkor 50mm 2.8 lens for the enlarger. Just need to get a lensboard for it. Someone on one of these online photography forums once called my photos "pretty generic", who cares! Jan 28 -

-------------------------------------- Jan 21 - Finally got out this morning and did some shooting, it feels like spring today. January is almost done and still really no snow. Im about to develop the film and Im going to try and get into the darkroom tomorrow morning, early. I have have to find a way to make time for myself to do this. It's amazing how much better I feel having gone out to shoot for just a couple hours. Of course the nice weather helps. Last night I watched "Photography Made Difficult" A documentary about the photographer W. Eugene Smith. If you get the chance give it a try. Here a couple links about him and his photos. Photography Made Difficult DVD Jazz Loft Project - scroll to the bottom of article for some of the photos W. Eugene Smith - Interesting facts and photos / photos of his darkroom The Walk to Paradise Garden - One of his more famous images taken after returning from photographing the war. ------------------------------------ Jan 15 - I haven't abandoned my journal. I received an email from a Brown student asking me for permission to use a photo of mine on a webpage for a school project. Not a problem. Below is the photo asked about. Going to try and update here more often with info and new photos. I swear, Im working on it. That is if anyone still visits here. I think there are a few. But if not, who cares, its fun anyway. Im working on stuff for Stacey's website. Trying to add new galleries using a different type of slideshow. So far not so good, but I don't give up too easily. If I can't figure it out I'll just go with the slideshow format she has already which actually works pretty well. I mostly figure this stuff out by much trial and error, mostly error. I changed the photo on my homepage.I had posted it in my journal a while back but I feel like those get kinda lost in the journal so Im reviving them on the home page.
Jan4 - Since I have my Bessa now Im selling the Fed 2 on Ebay.-SOLD Jan 1 So tomorrow Im going with Stacey to Mystic, Ct to an all day conference for wedding photographers. If you dont know, my fiance, Stacey is a wedding photographer. Anyway, there are going to be speakers on different subjects including websites and image workflow and that kinda exciting stuff. Since I help her with her website and her images I thought it would be good for me to go with her.So while its a day off from work, I'll still be working in a way. Oh well, maybe I'll learn something. Maybe I'll take my Bessa along, though Im sure all the photographers there will be all about the latest and greatest dslrs, nothing personal. I'll pretty much be spending the next month adding and removing stuff to her website. Usually January thru March are her busiest in terms of booking for the coming year, so Ive got to get going on it.
