11:40pm- I got home from painting tonight and came across this recent photo. Ive been hesitant to post it, but its growing on me(no pun intended). Between the plants, concrete and the reflection of the plants I feel there is plenty to look at. Any comments welcome . like or dislike ?

6:20pm- Hi there, once again my life has just been too busy for me to do much this week photography wise. I'll do my best to post a new photo of the week on Sunday. Stacey's mom is moving to a new apartment and we've been helping her paint and get the place ready to move in by Sept 1st. So right now I'm off to put the painting clothes on and head out to Pawtucket.

10:55am- Sometimes I do get a bit jealous of how often and how quickly those with digital cameras can post new photos. But I also feel that it can take away from the whole editing process. I dont always just add the "best" image from a days shoot. I sometimes add an image that may be something I just like because of where it was shot or the circumstances surrounding it which make it a photo that means more to me than it might to viewers. Also, this is a learning process for me and I'm feeling more and more that a lot of what i'm trying to do is document this city i'm living in.-which is changing by the day. I feel this sometimes means some images may be signifigant more for preserving the way Providence looks and feels rather than just producing photos that are interesting to look at simply for their composition and lighting.-which I enjoy doing also. 6:15pm- Just added a new link. One of the best parts of having my own website has been communicating with interesting people who care about photography as much as I do, and I really like the title .Unblinking Eye

9:55pm-I just happened upon an interesting website. Andre Kertesz is one of my favorite photographers and here are what some of his most famous prints are selling for these days. I wonder if he saw prices like these while he was alive. If he did it probably wasnt until much later in his life. So much for trying to sell my photos for $20.00 on ArtByUs.com. Of course, he didn't do what he did because he thought that one day his images would sell for thousands of dollars, right? Kertesz

11:45pm- Made it downtown yesterday to do some shootng. As I walked around all the construction going on and "revitalization" of old, mostly empty buildings I noticed that many of these structures still bear the signs of the years that have passed. I mean signs literally actually. I found myself photographing the repairs taking place and amist the steal beams, caution tape and broken windows you can still see the signs of business that are long gone like pubs, shoe stores, markets, etc. Most broken with letters missing and paint chipping. Im hoping to get down there again soon and do some more of this shooting. By this weekend I'll try to have some of this work posted here for you to see.

8:02pm- For those of you checking in here regularly, thanks. Sorry its been a little while since I've written here.I've just been too busy. Please hang in there with me. I'll have some new stuff posted soon, promise. In the meantime, have you seen the work of this photographer in Poland? I recently have conversed with him and he just bought a yashica rangefinder! I really like his composition and creative lighting. Igor Herzyk

6:25pm- As you may have already heard, Henri Cartier Bresson has died at the age of 95. He co-founded Magnum Photo Agency and here is a link to the website and a retrospective of his photographs. His work will continue to influence generations of photographers. Bresson

4:20pm- New Photo a Week image #16.
11pm- Added 2 new images tonight. The first is a photo showing something that is a pretty common sight in downtown Providence these days, building renovations. This particular building was most recently the home of a rock club called Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel, and a bar called Met Cafe. This photo shows what was the entrance to Met Cafe. Like many of these old structures it is being converted into high priced condos and loft spaces. Luckily, Lupo's is still alive and well, just moved a few streets over. One of the only places in the city you could go to see the likes of B.B.King one night or Courtney Love the next.(when she's not getting in trouble that is.) Lupo's Heartbeak Hotel
